Completed Projects

Building Facilities
In 2004 the community Church was held in the local government school. The Church building was completed in 2006 so the community now has a place to worship and a resident pastor. The Centre sits on 11 acres of land to be used for facilities and farming. The pastor's residence was completed in 2007 allowing him and his wife to move from rental accommodation into their new home.

Nursery School
The nursery is now built and in use. Currently there are over 50 children attending cared for a full time teacher and teaching assistant. They are educated and fed 5 days a week. We thank God.

Corn skinning and grinding machinery
Due to a generous donation we now have in operation corn processing machinery and oil extracting machinery. This now enables the members of the community to have their staple diet of corn ground and prepared locally as opposed to the alternative of a days walk to the closest town. In addition the selling of the produce provides money for the centre.

Bicycle Repair Shop (Updated 31 December 2009)
Because of the kind generosity of Hans Rey (Wheels4Life.org) a Bicycle repair shop has been established inorder to maintain the bicycles already donated to the community by Wheels4Villages.org.

Current Projects

Water Project
The community have dug underground tanks to harvest rain water for purpose of brick making and general use. After recent surveys have been undertaken, we have applied for water drilling and full sanitation for the centre. This will benefit the community by providing access to nearby, clean water.

Orphanage (Updated 10 March 2009)
The orphanage building is essentially complete and three children have moved in with their matron. Finishing touches to the building will be completed soon. The remaining children are being cared for at homes where they reside with financial support by the charity. Seven children, including community children have reached the age to start secondary school at Jipe, where they are now boarding.

Meal and Fellowship Day
Every saturday since 2006, meals and recreational activities are provided for both nursery children and the local primary children. This has a great social impact on the community.

Proposed Activites

Health Care Centre
There is great and urgent need for a health care centre to provide hospital services to the local community. Although clinics do exist, the care provided is extremely basic whilst larger hospitals are impossible to access for some of the poorer local people.

Primary and Higher Education Schools
It is proposed that the children will benefit from a Christian education service from nursery to high school level. Currently

Farming Infrastructure
It is proposed that the Centre will maintain the farming of milking cows and both broiler and layer chickens providing the Centre with milk, eggs and meat. Negotiations are underway to acquire additional land for farming. There are proposals to grow crops in order to provide food for the Centre and to sell the excess produce inorder to instate financial self reliance for the centre.

Care for Widows
Currently there are five widows under the care of the Centre. They are provided with monthly financial aid. The future plan is to greatly improve their dwellings which at present are simple structures with mud walls and grass roofs. These structures leak when it rains.

Homes for the Rejected Poor
It is proposed to build simple houses for those without homes from the community and beyond. This will enhance their self worth and provide them will shelter and fellowship.

Retail Store
There exist plans to build and setup a retail store which will serve the community while generating income for the Centre.
